    First time buyers, BUT!

Posted by Chris on 1st Feb 2016

This is a great kit. But for a first time buyer and maker. I thought it would be a good idea to get 1 3/4" hooks. After much research on belts and such, I realized I should have purchased the 1 1/2" hooks. As a beginner in this, maybe their shouldn't be an option for hook size? Or maybe they should have an explanation of common belt sizes and uses? Anyway, can't beat it and I will buy again in the near future.

    ***Note from DIY***

We do offer the hooks in different belt sizes

    Excellent kit!

They included plenty of Kydex, more than enough rivets and screws, and 4 belt hooks in my kit, enough to make a holster for my pistol AND a mag holster for a spare mag as well with stuff left over. The "instructions" are a single sheet with a couple websites and a youtube channel listed, I think that could be done a little better, I mean, if you're going to use a whole sheet of paper don't just put three links on it... either give some basic instructions (easily fit on one sheet of paper) or put the addresses on a 1/4 sheet strip or something less wasteful...

Other than that, a great kit for a decent price!

Never worked with this material before but it is super easy to form and becomes very rigid after heating. Not sure about post form heating to fine tune but if you take your time and do it right you shouldn't have to. I'm sure I will purchase another one of these kits!
