DIY Molding Drones are made for the professional and hobbyist alike.  These castings are molded from actual pistols/mags/lights out of a high-temp, durable material that has a shrink rate of .001 inches per inch.  This makes for unparalleled accuracy in our molding drones.

Our Original Molding Drones are excellent for professional, high volume molding operations, hobbyists looking to make basic holsters and everyone in between.  These drones are extremely tough and handle the rigors of vacuum and pressure molding well. The high density material is virtually unaffected by heat and pressure and will allow for nearly uninterrupted cycle times.

All catch points have been filled and control and sight channels are built in.  These drones are workable, so if you want to make custom alterations it is no problem.  Feel free to sand, cut or glue alterations as you see fit.  Our goal is to make it easier when you Do It Yourself!

Note: If you mold or plan to make products with lights or lasers attached to the rail or trigger guard you should consider our "Rail Work" Drones. Out of stock? No problem. Email today and we'll make it to order in 1-3 business days.

    Outstanding, with some tweaking

Posted by Adam Troutt on 23rd Oct 2019

I've used DIY's molds for years, and they just keep getting better. The fit and finish on the molds is excellent. I recently got the Sig P365 mold, and my only complaint with it is the trigger guard was overfilled. There was too much material within the trigger guard for the kydex to lock onto the trigger guard. Granted, I had 1/4" blocking on it for adjustable retention, so it may have worked with fixed retention. I didn't try that as very few of my customers want fixed retention. It was a simple matter to drill some holes in the trigger area and now it locks in perfectly. I also use 3 layers of painter's tape per side of the gun for clearance, but that's standard on any mold I've used. I love DIY's molds, and this one lives up to the standard they set. The pictured 239 mold has a recess in the trigger area molding that is missing on my 365. If it were present I'm sure my 365 would have been perfect.

Sig Pistol Drones Original grey Series: P320 Full Size

I received the drone within a few days of ordering it and put it to work. At first, my tape wouldn't stick, so I lightly sanded and washed it. Bingo, it sticks now. I have bought a few drones that were not DIY and wish that I had. Prep time with a DIY drone is minimal and you can get right to work. Two thumbs up.

    Sig p320 drone

Compared to all the other molds from other manufacters DIY's grey molds are excellent there clean, the specs are dead on and their built like a brick shithouse LOL I have the LC9 also if I have to give one negative it would be the sharpness of edges but a quick sanding by hand or Dremel on the 90° edges just to soften ever so slightly and their perfect great price also that's a big one and aside from molds DIY's customer service is beyond reproach!!!!
